AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) Meal Prep Bowls - By Clean Kitchen

I am a Mom of 3 and I have an autoimmune disorder, Hashimotos disease.

Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune disorder that can cause hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid. The thyroid becomes damaged and can’t make enough thyroid hormones. Which makes weight gain very easy and it really hard to lose body fat.

I try hard to follow the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) to support my autoimmune Hashimoto’s disease, and with a family of 5, not everyone is wanting to eat AIP-style, but that is where Salad Station saves the day! Whether I just need a meal for myself or the whole family, the combinations and choices are endless and can please everyone’s needs.

Salad bars have been around for a long time, and you may be thinking Salad Station is just a typical “salad bar,” but that could not be farther from the truth. It was great to find one place the had all of the ingredients I needed to make a great meal in line with AIP!

The Salad Stations hot meats and Hot bar added together with the salad bar and topping make for AMAZING meals that are so much different than your ordinary typical salad bar meal.

For me, building this whole food habit foundation is essential to the quality of life I want to live.

I have created TWO AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) Bowls (Dairy free, Soy free, Gluten free). I hope you enjoy them as much as I do weekly!!

In Clean Kitchen we love creating meal “hacks,” or what we call “recipe revamps” when we are craving a meal that is most likely not inline with our goals. But in our opinion, you can still create the same flavors of that meal if you are willing to get a little creative! And we can get really creative at The Salad Station!

AIP has been wonderful for me, but sometime there are craving for things, not so on point with my goals. Salad station makes it possible to fill these cravings with out getting off track and still filling my habits of getting in plants and proteins.

My first “hack” bowl is for Chicken Alfredo. This bowl combines food off of the hot bar and salad bar to make your craving for a warm Italian meal come true all while filling you full of plants and heathy protein.

Zoodles Chicken Alfredo “Hack”

• Hot chicken

• Roasted garlic

• Broccoli from hot bar

• Splash of broccoli cheddar soup from hot bar

• Sprinkle of parmesan cheese

Ward’s is a local fast-food burger restaurant with a chili burger called the “Big One.” It is a delicious guilty pleasure of the South, and while I don’t eat it anymore, I still crave it. I created a Ward’s Big One Salad years ago when I was craving a BIG ONE early on in my CK journey! The Salad Station has such a variety I was able to make those flavors for an awesome post work out meal!
